7 people arrested in US Bank lobby during Occupy Columbus Bank Tour
A semi-spontaneous bank tour organized in conjunction with Occupy Columbus prematurely ended when 7 individuals were arrested at around 1:00pm in the lobby of US Bank's central Ohio headquaters at the corner of Broad and High. They had just marched from 5/3rd bank where the police showed up but no body was arrested. An impromptu speech about the inequalities of bank tellers compared to CEO pay and the bail outs that made these banks solvent. The protesters marched into the bank chanting "The Banks Caused the Crisis". The security guards looked bewildered and and then in less than a minute the police started hand-cuffing members of the crowd. There was no audible attempt by the police or bank employees to ask people to leave. This all happened within minutes of entry into the bank. There are solidarity rallies in front of the State House at the occupation encampment and in front of the jail/court house at Mound and High.
